About Us

We are approaching treatment in an entirely different way- looking to heal neurological injury that comes with trauma. We believe that traditional talk therapy helps to hold space, however getting deeper relief involves rewiring the brain on a neurological level. This includes things like EMDR, Brainspotting, Biofeedback, Tapping, DBT,  Mindfulness and other brain body connections.

DIALECTICAL BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (DBT)

Learning how to control your emotions by controlling your body

The DBT group focuses on skills training essential for daily life, including how to regulate intense emotions, interact effectively with others, and tolerate distress without causing harm to oneself or others. Mindfulness skills, which are crucial to all other skills, involve enhancing awareness and learning to control attention. These mindfulness techniques are taught for two weeks prior to modules on distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

BRAINSPOTTING

The Organic Approach to Trauma

Brainspotting is effective for a wide variety of emotional and somatic conditions. Brainspotting is particularly effective with trauma-based situations, helping to identify and heal underlying trauma that contributes to anxiety, depression and other behavioral conditions. It can also be used with performance and creativity enhancement. Brainspotting gives the therapist access to both brain and body processes. Its goal is to bypass the conscious, neocortical thinking to access the deeper, subcortical emotional and body-based parts of the brain.

ANDREA GARLICK

Licensed Professional Counselor

Andrea specializes in the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder and brings extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Brainspotting.

She is deeply passionate about guiding individuals through the process of facing their emotions and thoughts, and she considers it a privilege to witness the profound transformations that occur when people commit to healing. For Andrea, therapy is not just about symptom relief but about creating the conditions for lasting and meaningful change.

While highly trained, Andrea’s presence in the therapy room is far from rigid. Clients often notice her laid-back and genuinely authentic style. It is not unusual to find her sitting on a yoga mat, with a Redbull nearby, ready to meet her clients where they are—physically, emotionally, and mentally. This sense of ease sets the tone for sessions, creating a space that feels safe, non-judgmental, and approachable.

Andrea is joined in practice by Sage, a Golden Doodle and therapy dog in training, who adds warmth and comfort to the therapeutic environment. Together, they create a setting where clients feel not only supported but also seen for who they are in their entirety.

At the heart of Andrea’s work is a commitment to authenticity and compassion. She believes that true growth happens when individuals feel free to bring all parts of themselves into the room, without fear of judgment. Her therapeutic style balances professionalism with a down-to-earth, human connection—allowing clients to explore difficult truths while also feeling at ease.
